The designs

One room. Many uses.

Every JPD design starts from the same compact building: about 3.66 × 2.44 m (12 × 8 ft) to the outside of the walls, with a single sloping roof, a glazed front and a long clerestory window. Inside, it becomes whatever you need: a studio, a home office, a gym, and more.

Studio

Light from the long clerestory falls across the back wall, where the work goes. The glass doors open the room to the garden. Clear walls, a worktable, and room to step back from the easel.

Shown with a worktable, an easel and a lamp.

Artist's rendering of the JPD design style, office interior: a plywood desk with a monitor and laptop along the back wall, a shelf with books and a plant, and a wall-mounted heat pump

02 — Office

Office

A long desk along the back wall, daylight from the glass front, and a door you can close at the end of the day. Quiet enough for calls, and far enough from the kitchen table.

Shown with a full-width desk, a shelf and a wall-mounted heat pump.

Artist's rendering of the JPD design style, gym interior: rubber floor, a wall-mounted rack with a barbell, dumbbells, kettlebells, a bench and a tall mirror

A firm floor, high clerestory light and enough room to move. A wall rack, a bench and a tall mirror fit along the walls. Floor loads are stated on the drawings; check before adding heavy equipment.

Shown with rubber flooring, a wall rack, a bench and a mirror.
